Giving Back to Jamaica — Our Roots, Our Mission

There is an old saying: "To know where you are going, you must remember where you are coming from." For Nick's Seasonings, that means giving back to the Jamaican communities our family comes from. Founder Nicholas Owen was inspired by his aunt Pauline Lindsay, who returned to Jamaica each year to give children toys and school supplies — and he built that same spirit into the company.

Annual Back-to-School Drive

Every year, Nick's Seasonings hosts a Back-to-School Drive in Jamaica. At a recent staging at Mount Moreland Primary and Junior High School in St. Catherine, close to 150 students received book-bags filled with pens, pencils, notebooks, crayons, coloring books, and other supplies — along with encouragement to work hard and stay kind to one another.

We started in our grandfather's hometown of St. Richard's Hall, Sligoville (about ten miles from Spanish Town, St. Catherine Parish), and have been growing the drive into Kingston and Mandeville to reach more communities on both sides of the family.

Service With a Side of Jerk — Laptop Giveaway

Through our "Service With a Side of Jerk" initiative, we have donated laptops and supplies to students and schools in Jamaica — helping kids learn and work from home when it mattered most.

Why it matters

Every jar you buy helps fund this work. We source ingredients like scotch bonnet peppers from Jamaica to support the local economy, and we reinvest in the communities that gave us our flavor. Thank you for being part of it.
